My Weight Loss Jars: 18lbs Lost

15 February 2015

I mentioned in my first post of 2015 that I was on a little bit of a mission to lose weight. I'm aiming to shed around six stone in total before my Florida holiday (I leave on September 1st!), so I decided that I wanted something visual to keep me motivated.

After seeing photographs of weight loss jars on pinterest, I decided to make my own. I used chalkboard stickers to label old jam jars, and chopped up some pretty straws that I had spare to use as counters. The gold striped straws are the equivalent of one stone, and the pink ones are worth one pound in weight.

So far since January 2nd I've lost a grand total of eighteen pounds, hence why there's one (hiding) gold straw and four pink straws in my 'lbs lost' jar. I find it so motivating to be able to move a straw or two across when I weigh myself on a Friday morning, and trading my first fourteen pinks for a gold felt like a great achievement. I've got a long way to go, but having these little jars has so far really helped me to stay on track. Fingers crossed my next update will be hitting the two stone mark!
