Chanel Haul Vitalumiere Aqua Perfection Lumiere Velvet Le Blanc De Chanel Haul L'amour Josie
After a particularly disappointing shopping trip last week, I found myself at the Chanel counter with the urge to make a purchase (conveniently forgetting the dosh I'd just shelled out on an Illamasqua order). I've been rather absent from the blogging world lately, but I couldn't help but notice the hype around a couple of Chanel products. After a quick swatch, three hefty purchases were made...

Firstly, with my much loved bottle of Vitalumiere Aqua foundation standing on its last legs, a repurchase was definitely in order. I've lost count of the amount of bottles of this stuff that I've gone through, but it's my fail-safe foundation for any skin day. Vitalumiere Aqua leaves you with a flawless, glowing complexion - if you're after light to medium coverage and a healthy finish, look no further.

The other two items were both new to me, although I'd read some great reviews of Le Blanc De Chanel. I definitely haven't used this enough times to offer my verdict yet, but so far although I'm not crazy on the consistency, I love the scent of this product and my foundation definitely sits nicer on top of it. Last but not least is the Perfection Lumiere Velvet foundation. This seems to be the easier to wear big sister of Vitalumiere Aqua; the shades all correspond, but I find that PLV offers a slightly more buildable coverage and more matte finish. Although it's not stolen VLA's crown yet, this is a lovely foundation and great for every day wear. Now, it's definitely time to get on that spending ban...

An Illamasqua Haul

Illamasqua haul
Last week, Illamasqua ran one of their regular 10% off online events. When a good friend mentioned that she had an Illamasqua pro discount card, bumping the discount up to 50%, I couldn't resist adding a few bits on to her order. Previously I'd only tried a lipstick and two nail polishes from this British brand, so I was intrigued to find out what else they had to offer.

I've wanted to try the Skin Base foundation ever since it was first launched, but don't live close enough to a counter to get matched up. After lots of research online I opted for the shade 7.5, which luckily is perfect for me! I've only used this foundation once as yet, but I'm really impressed by the coverage and finish. The other base product which I purchased was Hydra Veil, a gel primer which goes on to the skin like water. I'm really impressed by the consistency of hydra veil, and so far I've loved how it has felt under a couple of different foundations.

Because I definitely needed more lip products, I added two glosses to my basket. The first is their Sheer Lipgloss in Artifice. This is the perfect pinky nude shade, and I'm surprised by how much I've enjoyed using this, as I'm not usually a gloss lover. Artifice isn't sticky and has just enough pigmentation for a pretty pout. The second lip product is the newly launched Matte Lip Liquid in Surrender. Now, I probably didn't need another liquid to matte lip product, but I'm really impressed with Surrender. The peachy shade is perfect for summer, and it sets to matte without feeling drying almost instantly.

The final purchase in my Illamasqua order were the mighty False Eyelashes in Lush. These have got to be the most intense eyelashes I've ever owned, and although they're hardly suitable for every day wear, I love how dramatic they are. I've been really wanting to try out a drag inspired makeup look for a while now, and these lashes will be absolutely perfect for that.

So far, I'm really happy with all of my Illamasqua purchases. Expect to see full reviews of these products soon, but for now I'm pondering what will be next on my Illamasqua wish list...
