All About The Brows

L'amour Josie All About The Brows Eyebrows
I remember once reading that if eyes were the windows to the soul, then eyebrows were the curtains. For an embarrassingly long time my eyebrows went untamed, but now I'm thoroughly converted to the ways of the threader. These products are the most loved ones in my quest for the perfect brow.

I actually gave up on eyebrow pencils a long time ago - I have a tendency to be a little heavy handed with my application, so the result is too fake - however, I discovered that Laura Mercier Eyebrow Pencil, when applied with the MAC 266 (which every girl needs in their eyebrow arsenal) actually gives a very soft, natural look. Laura Mercier is the queen of eyebrow products as she's the whiz behind my beloved Brow Powder Duo. A conventional eyeshadow would also do the job, but a little bit of this powder on my 266 manages to precisely define my brows without looking like too much.

For those times when I want my brows to make an impact, I use my MAC Fluidline in Dipdown. I'll take a little bit of this on my (again) 266 - do you see a theme here? I love this brush - and run it through my brows. This gives me sharp definition that means business, and sticks around all day. This is a great, multi-functional product which featured in my 2013 favourites here.

Finally, whether I'm leaving my brows au natural or using a combination of any of the above, I like to finish them off with my Anastasia Beverley Hills Clear Brow Gel. This holds everything in place without discolouring or making my brows feel too rigid or crisp, you only need a little bit of this product, and the brush just finishes everything off. There we have it - my essentials for the perfect polished brow.

  1. I'm the same - it took me ages to start attempting to fill in my brows but I love it now! I really want to get hold of some of the Anastasia brow gel x

  2. Oooh what a lovely post! Thanks for sharing! I'm looking to upgrade my brow routine and you have lots of lovely suggestions!

  3. Since I have "goog" eyebrowns I never fill them but when I work on other people sometimes I have to and those products seem great to work with!!

  4. I gave up on eyebrow pencils a long time ago too. I have red hair and black eyebrows and for some reason, people kept on recommending warm brown pencils that you could totally see were different from my eyebrow hair color.

That gel is awesome though. I enjoy using it too.

    Nice post :)

  5. Brows are so important! I didn't used to like pencils but I've actually found one I really like - the MAC Veluxe Brow Pencil. Great recommendations... I always hear great things about Anastasia.

  6. Great post! I have been using my RT slanted liner brush and NYX eyebrow cake powder for months and am really liking it.

  7. Fab post hun, I was a little lazy on the eyebrow front too. Now I cant go a day without doing them, might need to invest in some of these products :) xxx

  8. Great products, I love Anastasia (Anastasia Soare was born in my country) and Laura Mercier.

  9. Love your post! Also some very nice products, I've only just gotten used to my eyebrow routine and love it for the first time ever. I've tried eyebrow powders and pencils but never liked them. Now I'm using the brow pencils by MAC and love it!

  10. I'm bored of using my rimmel brow pencil so this post has inspired me to try something new! The Anastasia gel looks great! x

  11. Great post lovely. I too used to neglect my eyebrows massively! At the moment I'm using Illmasquas Eyebrow Cake and love it!

  12. I am ashamed of how my eyebrows used to look, I swear by the Anastasia Brow Wiz and would definitely recommend it!

  13. I really wanna try the new brow gel! But no ones makes brow gels for gingers!

  14. Love the sound of the brow powder, I'm finding pencil a little too thick at the moment!
