Phyto Phytokeratine Ultra Repairing Mask
For the past twelve months or so, my go-to hair masks have been the ones detailed in this post. However, on a recent trip to City Pharma I spotted this Phyto hair mask in a duo with the corresponding shampoo, priced at less than €5. Spur of the moment purchases aren't usually my thing, but this was a good one.

Phyto are renowned as a brand for making use of what nature gives us. This mask is packed full of botanical ingredients which are designed to strengthen and soften hair, such as coconut oil. It also contains two forms of hyaluronic acids, in free and bound form. I thought that hyaluronic acid - which is well known for its ability to retain moisture - was a skin thing, so I was pleasantly surprised to see it on the ingredients list. According to Phyto, this dual form is designed to correct any water deficiencies within the hair and also coat the outside for shine.

The first thing that I liked about this product was the smell. It has a lovely, natural smell, and after five minutes of mental debate I settled on coconut as the dominant scent. Another positive thing for me is that this mask only takes five to ten minutes to work on hair. Sometimes I want to give my locks a little treat but I don't have a spare hour to sit round wearing my Elasticizer, so this mask is perfect for those times.

When applied, my hair felt lightweight and not at all greasy. After removing, my hair dried a lot softer and smoother than it normally does, and needed less oil to tame it. Usually the effects of a treatment only last until the next wash for me, but I was happy to find that I had the same results after my next non-Phyto wash. This is quite a strong product so you need to make sure that it's all washed out and I'll only be using it every few washes. However, if your hair is damaged and you're looking for a more natural option to strengthen it, give this mask a go.

  2. Sounds very good! My hair always feels on the dryer side and since I'm bleaching my roots again soon it'll be even worse, so I might look more into this!
