Blogmas Day 4: My Travel Beauty Essentials

4 December 2013

If there's one thing that I've decided I loathe about going away, it's packing. I always take too much with me, and I always forget something. To help make packing a little easier for me, I've put together a pouch filled with the do-not-forget-these essentials. This is the Parisian edit.

Aside from the unglamorous items (toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant etc), these are the products that if for some crazy reason I forgot to pack any other beauty items, I could just about survive on. Getting to sleep in a strange bed can sometimes be a difficult experience, so I take a dinky rollerball of This Works Stress Less with me. I roll this all over the place - on my pressure points, the pillow case etc - to help me relax and drift off to the land of nod.

I couldn't dry my hair without the Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment, it softens like no other. On the subject of hair, I keep a travel version of my Tangle Teezer in my bag, it's the only thing that just about gets through my knotty locks. I've raved about my beloved L'Occitane Hand Cream before here, so a tube of this always makes the cut. Because I'm a bit of a clean freak, I throw in a Bath & Body Works Hand Sanitizer, as well as a tiny shower gel - this pod is from Sephora - just in case.

I'm a big fan of decanting, so I've got my skin care favourites covered with a spray bottle filled with my Pixi Glow Tonic and a mini tub of Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm. Last but not least is the makeup front. Narrowing down my cosmetics to the bare essentials felt like an almost impossible task, but I opted for my Mac Select Cover-Up Concealer, because it's versatile enough to cover redness, blemishes and dark circles. The final product in this travel line up is the Hourglass Opaque Rouge in Icon. A sleek, compact lipstick which barely takes up any room. After all, what's Paris without a red lip?

  7. Love the products, I agree the packing part of going away is a chore (especially beauty items I way overpack which my partner laughs)
