Blogmas Day 12: Paris Beauty Haul

12 December 2013

A visit to Paris wouldn't be complete without a stop off at Sephora, plus a wander around a pharmacie or two. For a little beauty relief before I share round two of my holiday snaps (it's going to happen), I thought I'd share the purchases I made whilst marching my bestie round the shops - I even managed to convince her to buy a moisturiser or two.

Once we'd checked in to our Paris hotel, our first destination was the infamous City Pharma. We stopped off at a pharmacie or two on the way, but neither sold everything I needed, so I was determined to make it to the skin care mecca. Ladies and gents, let me just make it clear - do not go to City Pharma on a Saturday afternoon. We were packed in like sardines, but they sold every product I was after (and more) at the cheapest prices I saw in Paris. I stocked up on a two pack of Bioderma for less than €16, along with three bottles of Serozinc for €4.90 each. These were actually €8 in another pharmacie! I've never tried Serozinc, but I've heard so many good things.

After stocking up on the essentials, I decided to treat myself to a few other things. I didn't get on with Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentrate, so I'm hoping that this vitamin cream from the brand will work better for me. I love my Nuxe Reve De Miel lip balm in a jar, so picked up a couple in stick form as they're more hygenic and easier to throw in my bag. Homeoplasmine had been on my radar for a while, so I'm hoping that this will be a welcome addition to my winter moisture arsenal. Lastly, I spotted this Phyto shampoo and treatment duo for less than €5 by the till, so fingers crossed this will counter the bleaching process I'm going through.

Our second shopping destination was the giant Sephora on the Champs Elysees. I replaced my glass nail file, which I love, and bought a Travelo style perfume dispenser. I bought the intense version of one of my favourite perfumes, Chloe Love, which has limited availability in the UK. The original is a floral, powdery scent. Expect a review of this version soon. Lastly, I hit the Make Up For Ever counter. I knew I wanted to try their Smoky Lash mascara, and managed to get this set with free mini black Aqua Eyes Liner and Sens'Eyes makeup remover. I really hope this product is worth the hype! I also got another liner in a beautiful bronze shade, which I love already - this stuff doesn't budge.

I'm really pleased with all of my purchases, and love a bit of French shopping. Now, let the spending ban commence.
