Blogmas Day 10: Philosophy Christmas Cookie

10 December 2013

Back in my Autumn evening routine post, I mentioned that I'd been using Christmas Cookie, one of Philosophy's infamous three-in-one bath products. Given that it now truly tis the season, I thought it was about time to share my thoughts on this festive tub treat. I managed to snap up this bottle of Christmas Cookie for £7 in the Boots New Year sale, but this year Philosophy have included it in the Cookie Exchange Gift Set.

Although I can't comment on how this works as a shampoo - I don't like to stray from my beloved Paul Mitchell Platinum Shampoo - I'm pretty clued upon on Christmas Cookie as both a bubble bath and shower gel. In terms of scents, I'm in heaven. This has a proper, vanilla-y cookie fragrance, which doesn't smell remotely artificial. Using this in my bath makes the whole room smell like my kitchen on baking day - no complaints there. Whilst this works nicely as a bubble bath (it produces a nice amount of bubbles, but it's no Lush bath bomb), I much prefer using it as a shower gel. Christmas Cookie feels really moisturising on the skin and lathers nicely. I have very sensitive skin on my arms and have to be careful what I use, but I had no reaction whatsoever which was lovely.

Whilst I don't think I could justify the full £14 on a bottle of shower gel for daily use, this makes a really lovely occasional treat. I'm sure it'd be a much appreciated gift for any bath/cookie lovers, I'll be making use of my 'one for them, one for me' policy.

  1. This is pretty pricey and I couldn't justify this on myself but sounds like a great gift idea and I bet it smells like heaven :) x
