Back in August, I posted about my Top Three High End Foundations. A more purse friendly post has been on the cards for a while, with the recent purchase of the L'Oreal Nude Magique speeding up the arrival of the high street rave train. Here we go...
The eagle eyed amongst you might have noticed that there are in fact four foundations in this photo, not three. Neutrogena Healthy Skin is a token entry in to the high store chart, as it's not available in the UK (sort it out, Neutrogena). This is touted as a dupe for one of my favourite foundations, Nars Sheer Glow, and it's pretty darn good. I wear the shade 30 Buff which is a tad too pink for me, but it gives a medium coverage, dewy finish which I love. Side note - If you've got oily skin, this probably isn't the one for you. On my more combination days, I reach for the Revlon Nearly Naked foundation. This was one of the most exciting product launches of the year for me, it's a nice light foundation which sets to a natural, satin finish. Sadly, it doesn't last as well as I'd like it to, but Revlon have some great paler shades.
Bourjois Healthy Mix has recently been reformulated so I can't comment on the new version, but if it's anything like the original then it'll be awesome. This was the first high street foundation in a decade long search that worked for me, and as you can see I'm nearly at the last pump. It's a light, natural coverage with a satin finish, which is perfect for day to day wear. In contrast to that light finish is the coverage of the latest addition to my budget beauty stash, L'Oreal Nude Magique. Although it's lighter than water (yes, really), and feels like you're wearing a lightweight tinted moisturiser, this foundation gives good coverage. My redness completely vanished and blemishes were much less noticeable. Out of the UK picks, I'd definitely recommend this. It's my go to every day foundation at the minute, with a flawless satin finish, I'm suitably impressed.
What shade of the L'oreal foundation do you use? I want to try it and I think I'm just the slightest bit paler than you.
