Real Techniques Duo-Fibre Collection - £23.99
I will quite happily admit that I bought these brushes on a bit of a whim. I'd made my way towards the Real Techniques section in boots to pick up the eye set, but let my cousin talk me in to buying these ones instead. Yes, they're pricey, but unlike other sets (Core Collection, I'm looking at you), I've found myself making use of all of these brushes. It's rare for me to post a review of something so soon after purchasing, but I've used these brushes every day for three weeks now, so I thought it was time to share.
First things first, if you're already happy with your brush collection, then you don't need to add these to the fold. However, I am so very glad that I did. These brushes are all incredibly soft, and despite the mixed reviews, I found them to be great for their purpose. Of the three, I absolutely adore the largest, which I use for blush. I couldn't get on with the actual Real Techniques blush brush, but this one is perfect for me. If you're a little heavy handed with your blush, then try this. It will sweep a light layer of colour on to your cheek, and is so soft that it's ideal for blending.
I use the medium sized brush for highlighting, and this works brilliantly with powder products such as Soft and Gentle. It's small enough to fit under my (non-existent) cheekbones also, so I'll have to give this a go for contouring too, but at the moment I'm really liking that I can finally use a powder highlighter, without looking like a glitter bomb exploded on my face. The only slight disappointment for me was the third brush, as it was far too scratchy to use on my eyelids, which are sensitive. However, this works nicely to lightly blend out concealer.
So far, I haven't experienced any shedding with these brushes, and they've maintained their softness. As I've already said, if you're happy with your brushes already, you don't need these. However, I'm a big fan of real techniques brushes, and I'm glad that I've added this set to my collection. Will you be purchasing the duo-fibre set?

Oooh, these are super pretty. I use MAC 187 duo fibre brushes for my blush/bronzer but these look like great, cheaper alternatives.

I'm so lazy with brushes, and never tend to invest in good ones, may have to try these out though!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog lovely :)
Hmm maybe...
I adore RT brushes but it sounds like I won't need these. What would we do without RT brushes?
