July Favourites

30 July 2013

In case you missed it, July has been a super hot month in Great Britain. Thus my beauty focus has been on remaining tanned and sweat-free. Nars Sheer Glow is the most heavy duty foundation I own, and after a rocky start (I say rocky, I hated it), I fell in love with it out in Vegas. This is perfect for sunny days when you want your skin to look flawless but also fresh, plus it doesn't budge once applied - I can apply this at eight AM, and know that I still look presentable(ish) when I get through the door ten hours later.

Continuing on the summer theme, seeing as the sun fails to give me any colour at all, I've been religiously reaching for my Xen Tan Dark Lotion. This is my second bottle, and my favourite self tanner. It leaves me with a lovely olive glow for a good five to six days - perfect for faking a tan all year round!

I've become more and more reliant on my Hydraluron, I'm almost at the bottom of this tube. Whilst I don't visibly notice a difference to my skin when using this on a daily basis, if I skip it for a couple of days I know about it. My skin is more balanced when using this, and as a result has been less greasy despite the heat.

Last but not least for this months favourites is my new favourite cheek combination, Mirrored Pink and Bronze Universel. I always forget how much I love this Chanel bronzer, the texture is just perfect, a gorgeous almost mousse-like product which makes my face look more defined and as if I've caught the sun naturally, rather than a muddy orange, which other bronzing products have the tendency to do (Nars Laguna exempt). I've raved about Mirrored Pink before here, and nothing's changed - it's still a Barbie pink which is perfect for summer. The combination of the two leaves my cheeks looking fresh and flushed - perfect for this weather, lets hope it lasts!

  1. You and I have such similar taste in beauty - I've almost always got something from your favourites on my wishlist! This time it's Chanel Bronzed Universel, Nars Sheer Glow and Hydraluron - have been meaning to pick all three up for a while now!
I think I'll definitely be getting the bronzer when I go through duty free in a couple of weeks - would be rude not to, really!

  6. I've had my eye on Nars Sheer Glow for a while, I need to get some soon haha! Last time I went to get Nars Sheer Glow I returned with Rimmel Match Perfection as I was a little nervous to buy Nars Sheer Glow online as although I'm very pale so I'm usually the lightest skin colour of every brand haha, I wasn't too sure with Nars as they mention the undertone colours which confused me slightly haha! Will have to try it sometime, love your blog!

  8. I love Sheer Glow - probably my favourite foundation, though I don't tend to wear it every day purely because it is a bit higher coverage, and I don't want to waste product. Been eyeing that Chanel bronzer ;)

  9. I bought Bronze Universal but didn't get on with it, it's currently sat at the bottom of my drawers... think I'm gonna dig it out and give it another go!

  10. Love the look of all of these products! The Sleek blush is a beaut! I hated NARS sheer glow at first too! But it works better on my skin in the summer when its less dry as it clings to dry patches like a mofo!
