I Heart RiRi Woo

8 May 2013

If you've already seen enough raves about RiRi Woo, then I suggest you look away now, because I am well and truly aboard the rave train.
MAC RiRi Woo lipstick - £14.00 - to be released again in June as part of the RiRi Hearts Mac collection

Usually when it comes to new products, I like to test them out for at least a good month before they make their way on to my blog. I've had my hands on RiRi Woo for less than twenty four hours, and already it's found its way on here, it's just that good. I made it through a plate of lasagne plus drinks with my pout intact - result.

Although I've not got the original Ruby Woo to compare with, for anyone who does, after wading through the promotional bumph, it looks like RiRi Woo is a less drying, slightly more blue version of the former. It's no big secret that Rihanna loves Ruby Woo, hence why the two are so similar.

In terms of colour, this is a proper, bold red. It's not too warm, it's not too cold, it's spot on and I can't imagine anyone it wouldn't suit. I can normally only get away with berry reds, so I have been literally jumping for joy at how well this works for me. Colour aside though, it's the formula that's blown me away with this. I've never swatched a retro matte lipstick, but I hope they release more shades in this formula, because I absolutely love it. Most 'matte' lipsticks still have an element of shine to them in order to keep them creamy, but RiRi Woo doesn't. It's a completely flat matte, which I personally think looks great combined with dewy skin. It also lasts really really well because of this. If you suffer from very dry lips this might not be so flattering on you, but I have no problem with it.

Overall, I'm super happy that I caved in to the hype and purchased RiRi Woo, and will most likely purchase a back up next time it's released. Yes, It's not in the super shiny RiRi Hearts Mac packaging, but I'm kind of glad, because I love the original MAC packaging - plus, the signature engraving is a really sweet touch.

  10. I really love this shade and tempted to buy however I have red hair and I am a sucker when it comes to lipsticks as I feel it will not suit my hair or make me look very unwell against my pale skin so I always stick to purple :( do you think it would suit or should I play safe ? xx
