Gleaming

9 February 2013

I know it's only February, but I think I've found my highlighter of the year. Last year was all about MAC's Lightscapade, 2011 was Nars' Orgasm Illuminator, but 2013 it is all about the Gleam. Whilst watching a Pixiwoo 'favourite products' video recently, I noticed that Nic's skin was positively glowing. When she mentioned half way through that she was wearing this on her cheeks, I instantly purchased it from the Debenhams website.

I'm a real fan of highlighters, and I've been lusting after a cream one for so long - Hourglass' Illume Bronze Duo was at the top of my wishlist. Since purchasing this though, the Hourglass offering has been forgotten. Although this did have a funny looking gold 'layer' over the top initially, once I blended through, Illamasqua's Gleam in Aurora swatched as the most incredible champagne shade (see the bottom photo - where I'd also tested out raspberry pie and forgotten to wipe my hand, oops!). Creamy in texture, and spot on colour wise for my skin tone, I'm a happy lady. So happy in fact, that I keep checking the mirror and congratulating myself on how dewy I'm looking.

Gleam is my first non-nail polish purchase from Illamasqua, and I have to say that I'm suitably impressed. Are you a fan of highlighters? Which other Illamasqua products should I be checking out? I have a feeling me and my bank account will be falling out soon...
