A Little Thank You

27 February 2013

I've never really been one for giveaways. I'm not knocking anyone who hosts them, but I always hoped that people follow my blog because they enjoy reading my posts, rather than the possibility of a freebie. However, not so long ago I published my Vive La France post, complete with a little rant about my rubbish day (crashed car, twisted ankle etc). I was overwhelmed by the amount of people who took the time to read my post to the very last moaning paragraph, and left a comment wishing me well. It really did cheer me up!

As a token of my appreciation, I've put together a little giveaway of things that make me happy, and I hope will do the same for one of my readers. Up for grabs for one of my readers is a Cath Kidston makeup bag and mirror, L'Occitane rose lip balm, Real Techniques Expert Face brush, and Comforter bubble bar from Lush. I hope this will go to a reader who genuinely enjoys L'amour Josie - this is definitely not about gaining followers for me, as I don't intend on advertising this anywhere.

What you need to do:
Be a follower via Google Friend Connect
Leave a comment below stating your GFC name, email address (or blog link, I just need some way to contact you), and one thing that makes you happy when you're feeling sorry for yourself.

I'd just like to reiterate how grateful I am to anyone who takes their time to read my little blog. I appreciate (and love reading) each and every comment I receive. I hope you enjoy reading my blog as much as I enjoy writing it. Thank you for all your wonderful support and friendship xxx

Disclaimer: All prizes were purchased with my own money. This is an international giveaway.

  1. How thoughtful of you. I've never won a giveaway, so why not enter another one! Haha! I hope your ankle is feeling better though (genuinely, and not just cause you're giving things away haha!)

  2. Hey! As someone with a blog that I only started recently, every time I see a page view go up I get a really lovely feeling (as sad as that sounds!), so I know what you mean :)! I love finding new blogs to follow as well, so I'm glad I came across yours this morning! :)

My email address is amyjane44@hotmail.co.uk and my blog is amyjanealice.blogspot.com

When I'm feeling a bit down or sorry for myself, I make a nice cup of sugary tea and get in bed with my teddies (I am 18, honestly haha) and watch my favourite TV or have a chat with my mum/best friend/boyfriend :)

Hope you're okay now after the crash!

    Amy :)

  3. When I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself I work out, yep. I'm one of those people. I'm not overly fit or anything but the endorphins and the distraction (try thinking about sad things when your on your 20th rep = not easy) make me feel better.

I hope you feel better sweetpea!

For me,when I need a cheer up, I just like putting a onesie, getting a brew, some chocolate and sticking a good album on repeat. At the minute still loving Mumford & Sons and Jake Bugg way too much. And then I paint my nails a bright colour!

  9. Wow. I totally read the blog post, and even began the comment with thinking about what I do when I am feeling sorry for myself...had an answer...and then apparently pressed 'publish' before I wrote it out. Well. When I feel sorry for myself...I typically pour myself a Lush-filled bath and have a cheeky glass of wine.

  13. Aw that was a horrible thing to happen, car crashes are scary no matter how big or small, hope it won't cost to much to repair, but at least you're safe x x

Thank you for a really cute giveaway idea, these little things would cheer up my week not just my day! When I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself I'll be honest and say I turn to food, a big chocolate bar or ice cream would be my first option, whether I have some in stock or not I'll go buy a big tub of icecream, sit infront of my favourite tv show or film and have a big sulk. There would be many cups of tea involved too and afterwards if I manage it, I'll make a bath and put some lavender oil on my pillow at nigh to help me sleep. Sorry that was a little more than one thing! Haha

  14. What a generous giveaway! You should know that you are in a welcoming blog community here - I personally love connecting with other bloggers any chance I get. x

Something that makes me cheer up is having alone time. I'll read a book, watch a movie, listen to music or just go online. That time alone allows me to tune out and relax. A cup of coffee or tea helps too :)

  17. Aw this is so lovely! It's nice to know that there are people out there willing to take a minute out of their day to cheer someone else up. When I'm blue, I always talk to my mum. She's my ally, confidente and best friend; we can set the world to rights with a cup of tea! If I won I would definitely give the The Comforter I spied in the Lush bag as a treat x

  35. Nothing cheers me up more when I'm feeling blue than Heinz beans and sausages and the film Monsters Inc. Almost nineteen and still relying on the stuff that would cheer me up when I had fallen over at school or lost my doll. Cheesy beans and sausages and a Disney film could cure a broken heart.
