Skin Care: Alpha H Liquid Gold

1 September 2012

This is all over blogger right now (with good reason), but I just wanted to throw my two-penneth in! I've recently overhauled my entire skin care routine, and after recommendations from Caroline and Anna - which are two of my favourite and most trusted blogs - I decided to throw this in to the mix as a twice weekly treatment.

I'm not great at the sciencey stuff, but from what I can gather Liquid Gold contains glycolic (also known as fruit) acid, which acts as a natural exfoliant - so basically, this stuff scrubs off the top layer of dead cells from your face. I was initially absolutely terrified by the idea of putting acid on my face - acid, seriously?! - but after clearing my acne up and being left with a load of scarring I needed some form of solution.

I've been using this for about a month now and I couldn't sing its praises any more. The 'liquid gold' comes out as a clear, runny liquid, that I sweep all over my face on a cotton pad. After how amazing the results were after the first night of using this I was a bit cheeky and used it 3 times a week, but I'm trying to go back to twice a week now. After every use I wake up with glowing smooth skin, and my scarring is becoming more and more reduced.

Please keep in mind that my skin is oily, and although quite sensitive, I can get away with most products. I can't comment on how this would work for dry, super ensitive skin (although my sister suffers from eczema and is really keen to try it). I'm not exactly sure where you'd get a sample of this and it's a pricey product to splurge on, but I absolutely love it. It's given me such great results and it'll definitely remain a part of my evening routine.

Have you tried any Alpha H products? Would you like to?

  10. I have overhauled my skincare in the last few months with Caroline's advice as well. I have been using the liquid gold for about 3 months and it has made a huge difference to my skin. I have also recently started using the Alpha H balancing cleanser but I think I prefer my Liz Earle.
